Many of us have at one time or another questioned the credibility of the price guide. While looking over the new issue today, I busted out laughing. They actually have 05-06 Bowman Chrome autos, like Deron Williams and Raymond Felton with down arrows! Actually, all the rookie autos have dropped. Even Gerald Green. This guy's cards have been on fire lately. Raymond Felton though? Have they lost their minds? For months I've tried to get them to bump up the price of the Felton Xfractor. Hell, any of these have sold well, many way over hi book. Where are they getting their information for this ****? End of rant........

i agree for the most part for some of these autos. The refs, Xfractors and BC sell for tons compared to the Base auto rc..which selll decent.

But I bet any money they are only contributing the value to the base auto then attaching the multiplying factor for the ref, xfract and BC.

I agree.. the pricing is so inconsistent on many cards... besides being a month behind the actual market, their pricing is inaccurate. Confused

What's silly Jay is this: Ok, so they want to bump all rookies down except Chris Paul. I can understand that. It happens every year at the end of the season. But why not drop everything around the board? Nothing from SPX was touched. We all know the numbering of those rookies. It's silly. For the hot list, they actually have Lamar Odom's 99-00 SPX rookie!Come on seriously, Lamar Odom? That rookie isn't even autographed like the other big guys from that brand! Also, they haven't touched Chris Bosh's Exquisite rookie. Good luck finding a nice 3-4 color patch for the $1,500 they have it listed at. On a side note, the Andres Nocioni Exquisites had a $15.00 increase......so maybe the pay attention to only some guys? Certain teams? I can't explain it.....

I had to e-mail for them to peak at Harris, and while ALL of Harris' cards have been dramatically rising, they only raise the Exquisite $75.00 to $375.00?! The Harris sells for as much or more than Deng, and I believe the Deng books $700.00. It is a joke.

I've questioned there pricing all year. It seems most prices in almost every set are lower than last year.

Is the Gerald Green refractor still at only $120?

Take it easy, guys...

Here's a simple solution: don't pay attention to the Beckett prices -nobody else does.

I think Beckett has a difficult time really getting average prices. Also, when we finally get our Beckett issue, it is more reflective of the prices a month or so ago.

That is not to say that I agree with them. Because some of their pricing is still crazy when you think back to a month or so ago.

But again... they have a difficult job to do. With cards being sold in so many forums (shows, trades, shops, E-bay) I think they are not/can't really do a good job.

It helps though at shows when Ebay prices are higher than Beckett BV and you buy at 50-60% of Book Smile

How much work and effort do you think it would take to put out our own price guide? I honestly think we have the funds and knowledge to put one together. But would the effort result in profit?

They don't even price 16-17 Immaculate or Flawless. Not in the book or the monthly.

It's just...interesting.
