I'm seriously crushed by this trade.

Nats get: Austin Kearns, Felipe Lopez, and Ryan Wagner

Reds get: Gary Majewski, Bill Bray, Royce Clayton, Brendan Harris, and Daryl Thompson

Kearns should add some "pop" to the lineup.

But this trade buys them nothing in terms of the "rebuilding the organization" that they have been talking about. Kearns has been and will continue to be a disappointment, Lopez is younger but otherwise about a wash with Clayton, and the Nats gave up three great young arms - two already in the majors.

This is why Bowden needed to be fired before the rebuilding began.

Still the Nats made out better than the Reds did. I would assume to see them be the sellers but Kearns and Wagner still have some potential.

not really sure what I think of this trade but might help out all the players...some needed playing time, others needed a change of venue...I would think the Nationals got the best of the deal but really depends on Thompson and Bray and what they bring to the table down the road...

How is it a wash? The Nationals easily got the 2 best players in this deal. Check Lopez numbers. He was an all star last year to.

I don't like getting rid of Bray. Majewski I got tired of, though I don't watch the Nats much. Kearns will strike out way more than hit and won't be hitting for power as much since he's not in the friendly Cincy confines. I don't know what to expect from Wagner and Lopez, while an upgrade over Clayton and the injured Guzman, isn't the answer.

What the teams gets for Hernandez (from the Mets more likely) and Soriano (if dealt most likely to Anaheim). I'd prefer to see Guillen go though
