Sheff will not be back or will be at 1st next year. There has been talk of both Sheff and Matsui being gone but I don't buy it, though Matsui would fit nicely in Dodger blue...not that I care. Cabrera will stay in NY because he has become productive. Now if Sheff or Matsui can play 1st on a semi regular basis I would expect one to stay in NY and split time between 1st, DH and the corner OF positions

BTW I'm glad to see the Yanks beating the Sox and hope they win the Series but only because I like Mussina, Jeter and A-Rod

Yankees already won the series...I just hope we can salvage the final game but we got Wells on the mound who is pretty unpredictable. Also the Yankees haven't won the world series since signing Mussina...it must be the new curse Smile

sorry I meant World Series

Yeah I realize they have fallen short since Moose signed with the Yanks. The curse is Steinbrenner buying players not one certain player. Oh to go back and bask in the days of when they had Mattingly and couldn't win ****. Laughing

Sheffield has already taken grounders at first to get a feel forr the position recently. He is open to being the 1st baseman. He was a short stop and 3rd baseman early in his career.

Matsui will be the left fielder again, I bet Melky will be the 4th outfielder and Bernie is gone.

Atleast if Cashman is smart.

If he's smart he wont keep talent on the bench because there is too much at one position while struggling at another. They should trade matsui for a pitcher.
