So long to a very great player. Too bad the way it ended this year wasn't as good as last year.

all i can say is damn, what could have been?

the guy had great numbers, but missed years worth of AB's due to injuries and a lot of them were missed in his prime.

one of the greatest baseball players of all time in his healthy prime and im not sure if there was anyone that was more feared than griffey. he could beat you defensively, on the basepaths, and especially at bat. he hit for power and average.

If there was ever a person that everyone admired and liked on the face of the earth, it was and is Ken Griffey Jr. He was amazing and clearly if he would have been healthy for more of his career, he would have been the all-time home runs leader. He will be missed. Although there are probably millions of kids born everyday, there will NEVER be another Kid. "The Kid" ... the proud owner of the sweetest swing baseball has ever seen.

Griffey Jr should go down in history as one of the greatest all-time.
In a time where most of the HR hitters were juiced up, Griffey was swinging the way he always swung and playing the way he always played while chalking up 10 Defensive Gold Gloves. No additional ingredients necessary.

The man who first asked to acknowledge Jackie Robinson's impact on baseball will be a first-ballot HOF, no questions asked.

The game will miss you Griffey, just like it always does it's Legends.

I heard he was going to announce his retirement a few days earlier but fell asleep in the clubhouse and missed the press conference Very Happy

Sad to see him go...sadder to see him have to go out like this

I say he should be allowed to start in this year's All-Star Game! Let him play one more game in front of the world that has liked him so much for so long.
