I've never seen this card, until about 20 minutes ago. I'm surprised that it went for *ONLY* $300.

TIM DUNCAN'S RAREST AUTOGRAPHED CARD.

Seller didn't know what it was (nor did I) so I asked what was stamped on it and he told me, so I found out what card it was. Think it sold for around $300 anyway

Topps Tipoff was a .99/pack retail product and these autos were pretty rare. I believe that they didn't have any other inserts except these.

I think the reason why this card only went for $300 is that it really does not look that pretty. Honestly, I'd rather get an Autographics Duncan Century Mark /50 over that card coz for a few extra hundred bucks, the Century Mark is a better card, IMO.

Rarity sometimes takes a back seat vs. beauty. But I do agree, that card is indeed RARE! ... Could've bought it if it was sold here in my country. Never did buy above $100 internationally. Pretty scared of losing stuff in the mail.

Those cards are indeed very rare, and I think look great in person! That particular card was signed bad, but otherwise is awesome! The Iverson used to sell for $500-600 routinely before he started signing again - the Duncan sold around $300-400 back then... looks like Timmy D stayed about constant (meaning you lose to inflation but at least it's not $100 yet Wink) while the Iverson is usually around $200-300 with several I've seen sell for less... The Duncan is about twice as rare if I remember, although both were impossible pulls, and I think there was one or two other players but don't remember who they were - must have been scrubs Wink

Us Duncan collectors don't want him to, thats why Laughing

Really though, the fact that he doesn't sign anymore has kept his auto prices pretty steady if not increasing slightly over the past few years. Some of his rare autos have seen some huge jumps in prices. It all comes down to the simple economic theory of supply and demand. As long as the supply doesn't increase and the demand does, his auto should hold value if not increase over time. My fear is, when (and if Wink ) he retires, he decides to start signing again. I really don't see it though.

Here's info on the Iverson from the same set. I haven't tracked it for a while, so I don't know what the current values are.
For the longest time, I thought this was the only card from that 99 Topps Tip Off autograph set. Can anyone confirm the other players along with Duncan and Iverson who are part of it? Images would be great, too.

Allen Iverson 99 Topps Tipoff $384.00 5/27/07
Allen Iverson 99 Topps Tipoff $183.59 4/19/08
Allen Iverson 99 Topps Tipoff $356.06 7/30/08

Allen Iverson 99 Topps Tipoff $533.33 2/20/09 BGS 9.5
Allen Iverson 99 Topps Tipoff $271.00 4/14/09

Tim Duncan 00 Stadium Club Lone Star $79.99 2/03/08
Tim Duncan 00 Stadium Club Lone Star $85.00 5/18/08
Tim Duncan 00 Stadium Club Lone Star $122.50 3/17/09
Tim Duncan 00 Stadium Club Lone Star $112.99 5/08/09

I haven't bothered to check that card in quite a while, but it's definitely something that doesn't pop up on eBay too often. I haven't looked for it this year, but in the last two years, I only saw four sales of that card. Definitely not as rare as the Tip Off auto though.

OH MY! I just checked ebay for Duncan completed sales:

Tim Duncan in this guy's auction but the weird thing is that I don't see it in in the completed sales or current auctions. Is it even available? Thats an 11 year old card too and I've NEVER seen it on eBay. I think it looks nicer than the Tip Off and would definitely be at least $300. I would't be surprised if it goes for $400, with the Spurs playing so well right now.

On another note, a few other Duncans are going for crazy money. Here's what I just saw in the completed auctions:

Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $99.26 8/26/07
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $99.99 8/27/07
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $83.10 9/13/07
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $162.50 10/11/07 bgs 9.5
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $145.12 10/13/07
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $78.00 2/20/08
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $91.00 3/09/08
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $102.50 3/14/08
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $89.68 4/13/08
Tim Duncan 01 Pristine $113.49 4/20/08

Ahhh stupid damn thing losing my post

Anyways (AGAIN), that seller listed a whole bunch of Duncan autos and cosigners that all ended 10/24. I bought the Topps one pictured in that auction, and the Lone Star went for over $300 (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5337015507&customid=&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D320604984455%29. He also had the first Tipoff one I was talking about. Strangely it seems nobody has left him feedback for them so you can't see the prices in his feedback...

hairy,

thanks for the info! i'll add it to my records. by chance, would you be willing to share with me how much you paid for the 99 topps card? i'd like to add it as to the records as well.

price/date if you can, please.

if you ever find out how much the first tip off went for, would you mind sharing that too?

thanks!

Paid $100 for mine. And I finally found the other one thanks to having kept ebay messages. It was a different seller but this is the auction - http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5337015507&customid=&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D230541286364%26ssPageName%3DADME%3AX%3AeRTM%3AUS%3A1123

hairy! thanks for all the sales info... i'll def add them to the site.

btw...for that first topps tip off auto.. the seller stated that the BV is $120.
is that right? or did he think that he had the regular topps auto. isnt that on BV at $120?

i gotta imagine the BV on the topps tip off is more than that, especially since the odds are so high.

btw... did all those end on 10/24/10?
